(WFI) Manchester United have teamed up with Fuji TV to launch MUTV, the club’s dedicated TV channel, in Japan.

The three-year partnership allows Fuji TV to broadcast MUTV content to its viewers in Japan and will cover matches, interviews and behind-the-scenes footage. The content will be available on Fuji ONE, TWO and NEXT.

Commenting on the partnership, United’s commercial director Richard Arnold said: “MUTV is a must for any Manchester United fan, offering up-to-date and exclusive news, interviews and archive footage.

“The dedicated channel is delighted to be partnering with Fuji TV, one of Japan’s major TV channels, to bring MUTV to Japan.

“This partnership further demonstrates Manchester United’s global reach and allows us to engage with the almost four million followers we have in Japan.”

MUTV is managed and produced by the club and includes matches from the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League.

Fuji TV ONE, TWO and NEXT will broadcast all Manchester United matches in full from the kick-off to the final whistle.

In addition to match action, they also plan to broadcast pre-match preview shows and post-match interviews as well as documentaries on developments at Old Trafford. A series of programmes will see United’s former starts look back on their playing days.

United, who have won the English league title 19 times and the UEFA Champions League on three occasions, claim to have 659 million fans across the globe.
