A senior delegation from Belo Horizonte, one of the six Host Cities for the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and one of the twelve Host Cities for the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, will be visiting Poland (Gdansk and Warsaw) during UEFA EURO 2012.

The team will be attending the UEFA Observers Programme in Warsaw (15th – 17th June 2012) as well as hosting meetings with key personnel from Football Federations and the media.

The city’s Mineirão Stadium is currently scheduled to host three FIFA Confederations Cup matches in 2013 and six matches in the 2014 FIFA World Cup™, including one of the Semi Finals.

Currently on schedule with its preparations, the city was recently praised for its construction work in a survey commissioned by the Ministry of Sport in Brazil and its Mineirão Stadium is due to be completed in December 2012.

Commenting on the forthcoming trip, Flávia Rohlfs, Executive Co-ordinator, Host City Belo Horizonte, said: “Ahead of our own role within the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013 and 2014 FIFA World Cup™, we are looking forward to seeing first-hand how a city handles a major sporting event such as UEFA EURO 2012 and learning from their expertise.

"It will also be a great pleasure to meet with representatives of the media and the European football family and give them a greater insight about Belo Horizonte and our preparations for 2013 and 2014. We will be delighted to welcome our European guests to Belo Horizonte to see our magnificent stadium and first-class training centres for themselves.”
