Draws for UEFA Champions League & Europa League on Dec. 16

The draws for the knock-out rounds of the 2011/2012 UEFA club competitions will take place on Friday 16 December at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.
The pairings for the Round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League as well as the Round of 32 and the Round of 16 of the UEFA Europa League will be made during ceremonies to be staged at UEFA, starting at 12.00CET and 13.00CET respectively. The draws will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino and UEFA Director of Competitions Giorgio Marchetti, assisted by the Ambassadors for the 2012 finals in Munich and in Bucharest, Paul Breitner for the UEFA Champions League and Miodrag Belodedici for the UEFA Europa League.
The UEFA Champions League draw will see the winners from one group facing the runners-up from another group, with the runners-up playing the first leg at home. The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against each other. Clubs from the same association must not been drawn against each other.
The UEFA Europa League draw for the Round of 32 will see the 12 group winners and the four best third-ranked teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage, being drawn against the 12 UEFA Europa League runners-up and the remaining four third-ranked teams in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The winners and runners-up of the same group cannot be drawn against each other. Group winners and the four best third-ranked in the UEFA Champions League group stage will play the return leg at home. Clubs from the same association cannot be drawn against each other.
There will then follow an integral draw for the Round of 16 with the qualified teams from the Round of 32, indicated as Winners of matches 1 to 16. The first team drawn will play the first leg at home.
Media representatives wishing to attend the draws must apply for accreditation via e-mail to email@example.com before Thursday 15 December midday, with "Clubs draws" in the subject header.
Due to the number of club representatives expected for the draws, only six photographers and a restricted number of cameramen will be allowed to attend the draw in the auditorium. A sound system will also be installed for cameramen.
A ‘live' feed from the draw hall will be available in the media working area, which is also equipped with a WIFI connection.
Both draws will be transmitted live on UEFA.com and on Eurosport.
